Rafael, inspired by his love for soccer and foosball and his creative designer mind, envisioned designing a foosball table. This idea led to a proposal to showcase non-car-related products at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, Italy.

The original design featured real grass but was replaced by synthetic grass for logistical reasons, as the table was to travel from the US to Italy.

The walls were made of clear acrylic, reminiscent of a football stadium, to keep the fast-moving ball within. The design expressed simplicity, with no visible springs or bumpers. The ball bearings spun in different directions, making shots incredibly fast and intense. These design elements enriched the player's experience, allowing them to immerse themselves fully.

This prototype, one of 12 selected from 62 proposals, was carefully packaged and presented at the 2015 Salone del Mobile in Milan, highlighting Ford's innovative design capabilities beyond the automotive industry.

Ford's participation at Salone del Mobile served multiple strategic purposes: enhancing its brand image as an innovative, design-oriented company and showcasing its design capabilities beyond automobiles. The event allows Ford to explore new markets, build collaborations with designers, and present future mobility concepts and sustainable solutions. Engaging with a different audience helps Ford reach design enthusiasts and professionals, expanding its customer base and brand loyalty. By being present at this prestigious design event, Ford positions itself as a versatile and culturally relevant brand.
